Join us for a full day learning how to create and perfect some well known and much loved desserts. In some of the recipes we use Motherdough discard which makes the flavour pop; everything just becomes more delicious.

Every participant in our JNB or CPT studio has their own workstation. If you book together or as a group we can arrange your stations together.

Courses run a full day and we combine presentation style tutorial with hands on learning where you execute the various recipes. 

Desserts Masterclass 1: Italian Favourites

Learn how to master delicious classic Italian desserts. Perfect for any occasion these sweet treats are loved the world over.

Tiramisù, Panna Cotta with Raspberry Coulis, Semifreddo al Torrone (Frozen nougat & salted caramel), Sourdough Biscotti (Buchu & Almond)

At the end of this day your will be able to:

  • Perfectly execute some of the world's most loved Italian desserts. 
  • Make the best Tiramisù ever; even better than Nonna
  • Practice new techniques that improve texture and stability that can be used in other recipes too.

Desserts Masterclass 2: Death by Chocolate

We will spend a day making a mirror glazed chocolate mousse cake and some proper biscotti. The great thing about that course is that the individual components of the cake are actually also perfect as stand-alone recipes. 

At the end of this day your will be able to:

  • Nail a perfect dark chocolate mousse
  • Bake delicious and fudgy sourdough brownies
  • Create a pro-level mirror glaze
  • Assemble everything together to produce a show-stopper cake.

    Chocolate Mousse, Sourdough Chocolate Brownies, Choc Hazelnut & Orange sourdough biscotti. 

    While some of the recipes will use Motherdough discard for better flavour, you don't have to have a Motherdough culture to be able to do our dessert course. 

    The course is held on from 9am to 5pm. It includes a light lunch. Every participant also receives a free Motherdough culture. In CPT the courses are held at the Motherdough Studio in CBD. In JNB they are held in West Road South, Morningside.

    You will receive more information via email regarding house rules, time, address and other important info you need to know closer to the time of the date you booked your course.

    Bookings, Confirmation & Cancellations
    We require booking and payment via our online system to confirm your registration. We understand that these are uncertain time and we would like to be as flexible as possible with our cancellation and rebooking terms. 
    We will offer a full refund on the course booking if cancelled before 14 days, for shorter periods we will offer a date change or a voucher to use on our store. For date changes within 7 days of the course start, a rebooking fee of R500 will be charged to change your date.  
    If we are able to fill your space with someone on the waiting list, you will have the option to change your date, ask for a voucher or get a full refund. We will also accommodate participant name changes up to the day of the course.

    Desserts Masterclass - not

    Firstly, I have not bought or attended Desserts Masterclass 1. I attended the Sourdough Masterclass 1. My overall experience has been amazing. Love the generously shared information, the clear explanations, the great hands-on activities, the friendliness, the list goes on. If these classes were to be rated on a scale of 1 - 10,i would rate each class I have attended 11. Loved loved loved the 3 I have attended.
