General Booking Terms & Conditions

Nestled in the stillness of the Jonkershoek mountains, the Motherdough Annex offers a light-filled, private venue designed for gatherings of up to 50 guests.


From birthdays and kitchen teas to intimate get-togethers and corporate days, we bring the warmth of sourdough, mountain air, and artisanal hospitality together in one beautiful space. Each menu – from Harvest Table to Giro Pizza, Kitchen Tea, and Picnic – is crafted on-site using local ingredients and the traditions at the heart of Motherdough.

 


 

1.          VENUE INFORMATION 

  • Location: Arkelshoek Farm, Jonkershoek Valley, Stellenbosch
  • Capacity: 35 guests indoors (Annex) + 15 on veranda/lawn (max 50 total)
  • Use: Day events only – no events after 18h00
  • Parking: Secure on-site parking
  • Catering: Exclusively by Motherdough Bakery (all food produced in-house)
  • Alcohol: Bring Your Own (BYO)
  • Glassware: Provided – breakages deducted from deposit

 

Session Times

  • Morning Session 08h00 – 12h00
  • Afternoon Session 13h30 – 17h00

Overtime: Events running beyond 17h00 incur R750 per 30 minutes.

 

BYOB:    We are not licensed, so you are welcome to arrange and bring in your own alcoholic drinks. We can supply glasses and ice for a small fee. If you are not from the area we can give you contact details of a supplier.

3. BOOKINGS & PAYMENTS

  • 70 % booking fee required to secure the date
  • Final guest count due 5 days before the event
  • Balance payable 72 hours before the event
  • Refundable breakage deposit R1 500 (payable with final balance)
  • Cancellations within 7 days are charged at 50% of the booking value.
  • 10 % service charge applies to all events
  • Ice available at R30 per bag

 

4. TERMS & CONDITIONS

  • Note guests minimums for different options
  • Daytime use only; no events after 17h00
  • Venue includes tables, chairs, and standard setup
  • No external food or catering allowed
  • Alcohol limited to BYO (no liquor sales)
  • Functions limited to Annex and veranda areas
  • Weekend rates and public holiday charge may for exclusive use areas
  • Outdoor seating weather-dependent
  • Damage beyond deposit value invoiced post-event 

 

5. CATERING PACKAGES

All menus are prepared by the Motherdough team using premium local produce, artisanal breads, and house-made pantry items.


Each menu is designed to be generous, seasonal, and balanced for group dining.


 

6. ALCOHOL & BEVERAGES

  • BYO wine, beer, and soft drinks permitted
  • Glassware provided (breakages deducted from deposit)
  • Coffee and cold drinks available at menu rates
  • No liquor sales on-site

 

7. OPTIONAL ADD-ONS

  • Ice – R30 per bag
  • Service charge – 10 % on food & beverage
  • Breakage deposit – R1 500 (refundable)
  • Extended hours – R750 per 30 minutes (after 18h00)
  • Table styling – quoted on request
  • Flowers / décor – external suppliers permitted (no garden installations)
